The Filipino American Museum Presents “Mascota de Zamboanga – A Traje de Mestiza”
A special exhibition by fashion designer Federico Navarro celebrating Filipino heritage, cultural identity, and the artistry of traditional attire.
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — October 29, 2026 — The Filipino American Museum proudly presents “Mascota de Zamboanga – A Traje de Mestiza,” a special one-man exhibition featuring the artistry and creative vision of fashion designer Federico Navarro.
The exhibition is open to the public every Friday through Sunday, from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. No reservations are required, and the museum’s regular entrance fee applies.
More than a fashion exhibition, “Mascota de Zamboanga – A Traje de Mestiza” offers a meaningful exploration of the Philippines’ diverse cultural influences. Through Navarro’s artistic interpretation, the exhibition showcases the distinctive beauty of the Mascota, a traditional ensemble associated with Zamboanga’s rich history and cultural traditions.
Where Fashion Meets History
The exhibition underscores the importance of preserving Filipino traditions while introducing them to new generations of Filipino Americans and the broader American public.
Fashion is more than what we wear. It tells the story of who we are, where we came from, and the traditions we carry forward. Through exhibitions like this, The Filipino American Museum brings Filipino heritage to life and creates opportunities for future generations to discover and appreciate their cultural identity.
The exhibition also reflects the museum’s expanding commitment to presenting Filipino and Filipino American heritage through diverse artistic expressions, including fashion, visual arts, music, film, historical artifacts, and educational programming.
